An interest rate option is a financial derivative that allows the holder to benefit from changes in interest rates. Investors can speculate on the direction of interest rates with interest rate options. It is similar to an equity option and can be either a put or a call. Interest rate options are option contracts on the rate of bonds.

Lisa Ann Morris

Course Director

Lisa started work in the financial markets in 1998, primarily in the treasury dealing rooms at Standard Bank and later Rand Merchant Bank. Specialising in structured derivative products, her main focus was offering foreign exchange derivatives as structured solutions which later broadened into interest rate and commodity derivatives. FX options are her greatest passion. Her workshops are well attended throughout South Africa, Botswana, Kenya and other neighbouring regions.
